:wrench: I'm thinking of converting my Weber Carb set up on my 75 2F to fuel injection.
What is the simplist and most economic conversion out there for the 2F? I had a member from Scouts West tell me that typical chevy injection systems can be modified to fit the straight six or any other vehicle for around $500 . I figure anything and everything has been tried by you Cruiser heads and I could cut the chase and save lots of money by just asking. Thanks!:wrench:

Most systems I have seen have been around 1500 bucks. I'm sure you could piece one together with junkyard parts for a lot cheaper. Read the links in the FAQ's. There's some good info there.

Megasquirt n spark and a TBI unit would be my guess for cheapest.
You have electronic ignition on it yet?

Smog requirements?

Megasquirt 2 with a GM 4.3 TBI

The MSnS is a bit outdated.

megasquirt n spark is just a nickname.
Any megasquirt with spark control added is "megasquirt n spark".
Megasquirt 2 has a TON of stuff you can control.
I recommend Rodney Sparks. High quality units.

Smog exempt here in Calif. I'm not too sure about spending $1500 on an injection kit, I'm wondering if the Chevy throttlebody system would work with the adapter. I hear they work on the straight 6 cyl on jeeps. Is anybody running one in here?

I'm running a coil right now but I have one brand new in the box sitting in the garage. I could be wrong but the 4.3 system requires a new distributor without vacuum advance?

You could use your points ignition (or an electronic ignition like Pertronix) with a Megasquirt I (v2.2 or v3) controller and the GM 4.3 throttle body. It's simple because MS I only controls fuel. It monitors other inputs* to do it, but it only controls fuel. It's simple and works quite well. Thus my previous comment that spark control on a 2f is probably overkill.

* Megasquirt monitors throttle position, engine temp, rpm, manifold pressure (vacuum), and, in closed loop mode, exhaust gasses. Its software mashes these inputs and decides how much fuel to inject. You can fine-tune the output by logging and analyzing data documenting what your Megasquirt was doing under certain engine conditions, if you choose to. So you can tune for power, extra lugging grunt, or fuel efficiency, or whatever else you're looking for.

Wow, I should of looked into this 3 Carburators ago! Now the hard part, to find an affordable one!!!

okay, so i have this straight.
i need a 4.3 throttle body and all the sensors.
i need a megasquirt to monitor and feed the proper fuel.
i need a turbo and exhaust and gauges.
done.
if i drive it with a light foot will the fuel mileage go up a bit with the EFI kit? but if i need to tow then the power will be there ... but of course the fuel mileage will drop.

in reality, what kind of fuel mileage increase can i expect?

i am guessing with moderate boost i should be able to increase the HP and torque by 30-40% over carbed/non-turbo. is this realistic?
