Greetings. And forgive my possible ignorance.

I'm trying to get a 1971 FJ40 back on the road. Things are progressing. Found the answer to my 6-spline hub problem (thanks, skully3!) and things are getting pretty close to launch.

My current hangup is the soft fuel line that runs from the fuel filter to the fuel pump. I have looked everywhere and while I don't see that it's officially NLA, I don't see anyone advertising it either.

Question 1: are new hoses still available and, if so, where can I get one.
Question 2: if the answer to Q1 is 'no', what's the best workaround?

Thanks.

I ran into this as well on my 72 if your referring to the ones that are threaded.

Those I could not find and ended up getting barbed fittings that screws into the pump and running regular fuel line.

Hope that helps

I just posted in your other thread, the fuel pump is 1/8 BSPT(british standard pipe tapered). Make sure you don’t buy bsp or bspp. A fitting described as bsp will most likely be parallel thread and if bspp is called out, it will definately be the incorrect parallel thread.

Left is 1/8 bspp or bsp
Right is what you need bspt.

The carb and sending units are also bspt. Don’t reef on the carb fitting I’ve seen those threads get buggered.

You can still get the nuts for the fuel fittings like on the carb hard line. The hard line is 5/16 inch and you can get the copper olives for it in the plumbing section. You can make a short run of hard line to go onto the factory flex line fitting on the pump and filter and just put a good piece of rubber between with good hose clamps.

I did that on mine and relocated the early style filter higher on the back end of the battery tray so you can actually see what your are doing when you pull the bowl off and change the element.
