How often are you guys replacing your fuel filters?

Are you doing it by time or mileage?

I have had the same ones on for the past 3 years, but have put less than 500 miles on my rig due to projects.

Time to change out?

I use glass filters, with replacable filter elements... I check them before I leave on a trip and carry extra elements with me. Any stutter and I crawl under my rig and check/replace filters.

It's just easier that way.

The old schedule went out the window with RFG. The way it eats through rubber, no telling what's a safe timetable any more. Like Danny said, just carry a spare and be prepared to install it.

Its gonna depend on the heath of your system and lots of other things. In some ways it may last longer if you drove a ton of miles vs lots of down time. Rubber likes to move in order to stay flexible.

If I'm having no problems, once a year in the Spring, I take the old one and put it in the glove box,
also keep some rubber tubing in there too.

keep the ethanol away from your Cruiser.....buy the good stuff if you can. I will admit, if I am driving a rig alot I run normal pump gas, but if a rig is gonna be sitting for a few months, it get non ethanol

I change my filters.......when I feel like it, never had one plug(except on rigs that have not run for years), never noticed a change after replacing one.

and yes, there is a spare in every glove box....there is a pretty generic WIX that will pretty much fit them all(beside the early stuff, because of the fitting)
