My Fuel filler release cable is jammed and won't let me open the filler door. How does this cable run through the vehicle? Is it something I can fix or replace? Thanks.

I've been tugging the cable behind the filler to get it open lately. Thanks for your help.

I've never looked, but seems like the cable would have to run under the vehicle. Can you see if the cable is loose under the vehicke or if there is a tensioner in the middle of the cable or near the release handle inside? Is the cable seated in the release handle?

I assume the door pops open fine when you manually pull on the cable.

I believe the cable runs in a channel under the rocker/door sill trim.

Have you had or performed any work done to your cruiser recently?

Sounds to me like the cable is kinked. Have you verified it is connected still to the release lever inside the cabin?

Thanks for the replies, the two ends appear to be fine. The problem is somewhere in the middle, it feels like the cable might be rusted but I haven't been able to follow it. I drove the car very little over the last several years and could go months between fill ups.

This might help:

Motion Pro

Lube it up and work it back and forth with a helper on the other end... Then do it again.
