Runs very strong and has great compression numbers (155 145 148 150 135 150) taken 2 weeks ago. I have wilwood disc brakes installed in the front with an fj60 master cylinder pushing the fluid. The carb is a Downey tuned Holley with an electric choke. I'm running a Mallory coil to the matching Mallory unilite electronic distributor. With the addition of the 2F none of the factory gauges with the F sending units so I installed a small 3 cluster gauge group of oil pressure, water temp and volts. The engine has yet to overheat and cruises at 165* all day long. It's helped by an electric puller fan. I replaced the terribly uncomfortable bench seat with a set of late model tundra seats which have made driving it much more enjoyable. Transmission shifts great, has had no popping out if gear issues and makes no whining unless I try pushing 70+mph. I installed a new clutch about 2 years ago, new pilot bearing, throw out bearing and rear main seal when I installed the 2F about a year and a half ago. I think I may have cracked the exhaust manifold this weekend so I'm going to pop it off and change the exhaust to a header with a new exhaust gasket. Interior is complete. Rear seat has no tears. Folds down properly. Previous owner installed 2 mat kits from Spector which is nice as it limits the road noise.
Like all pigs this rig is not such a stranger to rust. At some time the previous owner painted the 55 green and had body work done. The only issue is in the roof line. It will need to be repaired. I can send more detailed photos The rest of the body is in very nice shape. All glass intact. Dashpad is cracked. Rear window motor works but needs hands on assistance when going up due the the weatherstripping in the side channels missing. Original keys. Unlocks doors, starts motor and rolls down the rear glass. I've replaced the shocks front and rear as well as the tie rod ends. The only thing left to do is rebuild the center arm and continue the wheeling adventures!

Nice rig, I have a 70 fj-40 with a 289 v8 that I would be interested in trading. It is sitting on 33x10.5 BFG's disc brakes up front and a 4 speed np435. Soft top and soft doors. Fun truck but I have two kids now and want something bigger and I love 55's. I am near Denver but am willing to travel.

Shawnray79- I am interested in the swap. Send some pics over and let's start chatting..... Thanks

would like to see some pics of the wilwood brake setup you have.

Trucks like this make me wish I wasn't a college student! I considered getting a 55 when I was looking for my first car, but the one I had found needed too much work for me at the time; I'd love to have one eventually. I'm really liking this color combination too.

What transmission does it have? How is it on the highway?

I doubt your interested, and I'm not sure I should even make this offer, but would you be interested in a 60?

Either way, GLWS!
