I am putting my dune beige 1979 (February 1979, manufacture date) FJ40 up for sale. It was delivered to California, where it had spent most of its life, before I bought it and had it shipped to Virginia. It has the original 2F motor, still with all smog equipment, the stock 4 speed transmission and transfer case. Transmission and transfer case shift smoothly. It is currently showing 61,047 miles on the odometer, which will be increasing slightly as I do drive the vehicle weekly to keep it in good shape. TEQ tool bag with tools as well as jack and jack accessories are still in place and included. The odometer works as does the speedometer and all gauges, horn, lights, turn signals, hazards, dash light, gauge lights, reverse lights, and interior light. The paint on this 40 is original, it is not a restoration. The interior is in near perfect shape, no rips or tears in upholstery and dash pads all in good shape. The Warn 8274 on the front bumper works and has a wired remote with carrying bag.

In the past 6 months I have replaced the battery, coil, plug wires, plugs, fuel pump, intake/exhaust manifold gasket (remfelx) and in September 2015 Mark at Mark’s Off Road www.marksoffroad.net rebuilt the factory Aisin carb, and it was installed. All filters have been changed as needed. It sits on stock Toyota steelies, with hubcaps, I bought new and sanded and painted, has 33x10.50R15 BFGoodrich A/T tires I put on about a year ago and have approximately 1,500 miles on them. The spare is an exact match of the other four tires and wheels, all bought at the same time, never used. The 40 has a new HFS 4” lift kit with greaseable shackles, new shocks and rubber bushings. The truck has aftermarket (non Toyota) power steering and steers and stops straight. Being a California truck most of its life this 40 is 99% rust free. Two things to bring to your attention: The driver’s side floor board has two small rust spots under the floor mat, I will include a pic, and it needs a head liner.

I have the original springs and hangers should you ever want to return to a stock ride height and smaller tire. All of this goes with the FJ40 to the new owner.

Clean and clear VA title is in my name and ready to be transferred to the new owner.

I will include photos, but if you want additional photos of specific areas close up, please let me know and I will get them for you. I encourage you to come by and check the vehicle out in person, you will not be disappointed.

I am selling because I took a very nice promotion in June that has me traveling more and leaves me with little to no time to drive and tinker with this 40, which is why I bought it. I would rather sell it, than have it sit in storage. I will be out of town Oct. 25-29, traveling for work.

The vehicle is located in Southwest Virginia, about 45 minutes from Bristol VA/TN.

Price - $26,000

One last bump, willing to listen to reasonable offers...then its off to ebay (ugh)

Before you go to ebay, try Bringatrailer.com A vehicle this nice deserves a good buyer and MUD experience with BAT has been good I believe.

Thanks ! I may look into that, I look at Bring a trailer from time to time to drool over some cool cars.

I, thankfully, never got around to listing this 40 on ebay, and after having some time off work for the holidays and getting to drive the truck a bit more I have decided to not put it up for sale any longer.

Good for you!

I don't mean to come off as wishy washy, but I am putting this FJ40 back up for sale. i have a back log of work projects coming up that will make spring and summer full of travel.

I added a youtube walk around video of the truck running, it was a quick one, so if you want other videos or pictures I will be happy to upload them and share them with you.

Wonder if @BallVice would have any interest even though he wants bj42. This one obviously very nice, hate to hear you are selling now. GLWS
