I am putting my dune beige 1979 (February 1979, manufacture date) FJ40 up for sale. It was delivered to California, where it had spent most of its life, before I bought it and had it shipped to Virginia. It has the original 2F motor, still with all smog equipment, the stock 4 speed transmission and transfer case. Transmission and transfer case shift smoothly. It is currently showing 61,047 miles on the odometer, which will be increasing slightly as I do drive the vehicle weekly to keep it in good shape. TEQ tool bag with tools as well as jack and jack accessories are still in place and included. The odometer works as does the speedometer and all gauges, horn, lights, turn signals, hazards, dash light, gauge lights, reverse lights, and interior light. The paint on this 40 is original, it is not a restoration. The interior is in near perfect shape, no rips or tears in upholstery and dash pads all in good shape. The Warn 8274 on the front bumper works and has a wired remote with carrying bag.

In the past 6 months I have replaced the battery, coil, plug wires, plugs, fuel pump, intake/exhaust manifold gasket (remfelx) and in September 2015 Mark at Mark’s Off Road www.marksoffroad.net rebuilt the factory Aisin carb, and it was installed. All filters have been changed as needed. It sits on stock Toyota steelies, with hubcaps, I bought new and sanded and painted, has 33x10.50R15 BFGoodrich A/T tires I put on about a year ago and have approximately 1,500 miles on them. The spare is an exact match of the other four tires and wheels, all bought at the same time, never used. The 40 has a new HFS 4” lift kit with greaseable shackles, new shocks and rubber bushings. The truck has aftermarket (non Toyota) power steering and steers and stops straight. Being a California truck most of its life this 40 is 99% rust free. Two things to bring to your attention: The driver’s side floor board has two small rust spots under the floor mat, I will include a pic, and it needs a head liner.

I have the original springs and hangers should you ever want to return to a stock ride height and smaller tire. All of this goes with the FJ40 to the new owner.

Clean and clear VA title is in my name and ready to be transferred to the new owner.

I will include photos, but if you want additional photos of specific areas close up, please let me know and I will get them for you. I encourage you to come by and check the vehicle out in person, you will not be disappointed.

I am selling because I took a very nice promotion in June that has me traveling more and leaves me with little to no time to drive and tinker with this 40, which is why I bought it. I would rather sell it, than have it sit in storage. I will be out of town Oct. 25-29, traveling for work.

The vehicle is located in Southwest Virginia, about 45 minutes from Bristol VA/TN.

Price - $26,000

I am buying one for my Son that won't have his license until next year.... 29K is a little more than I want to spend on his first BJ ;)

Yeah, something like $2900 more appropriate!!! My boy is still not quite 14 but is pretty convinced he is going to drive the one in my avatar. Prepare everyone, hell might freeze over in a little over 2 years!

Bitter sweet I'm sure. Congrats and I'm sorry.

Wire was not received, truck is back up for sale.

Bump for a price reduction, $26,000.

Did you sell it?

Back from Texas, giving this a bump.

Beautiful! I would be all over this if i hadn't gotten a tan 76 in December! GLWS
