1967 FJ40, original Toyota 6, have most paperwork and receipts, has 4 inch lift, pretty original, very solid, very little rust which is just surface. The vehicle has been in Sedona for least a decade, has some Sedona mud/dirt on her now. Has new master cylinder and other new brake parts but chose not to finish because most will upgrade the type of brakes anyway. Has 5 speed conversion, so she handles great at higher speeds as well. Runs and starts right up.. I have 3 classics so selling 2 to make parking space. Local pickup only, cash only. Serious inquires only. Thank You. (Vehicle now in Phoenix)
928-two zero two 278 five .

splitcase with a ebrake setup..... and looks like a fst, tailgage etc... someone take look at this may be a nice cruiser for someone..

the softtop bows are incorrectly mounted

looks like tossed on for picture?

Good thing her bezel is correct!

This is some type of aftermarket soft top (Kayline?) but sure it fits better than shown in the pictures. Would be curious of the VIN. I believe production date would mid 64 to mid 65. I would also check to see what was done to fit the H55F with a hand brake on the back. Don't believe even the later frame could accommodate this setup without cutting out the torque tube behind the transfer case. Even with that issue I would have been interested if it had a H55F with the correct shifter location for a 4X series.

Torque tube appears to be missing. Transmission hump is awfully small to fit an H55 in, although the shifters do look like they are from a 60 series? What was first year for power brakes?

The H55F is set up to run a crossmember but can't tell if it's there. Did the H55F use a 3F bellhousing to angle the setup so the transfer case is lower? I would hope they didn't use a 2F bellinghousing with motor mounts and call is good. Also wonder the history of the five speed and transfer case with the hand brake. Hand brake was on the axle of all 6X series as far as I know. Would be curios if these were put together. Split case with hand brake was not that uncommon on the H41 on the 4X series in Australia. Mmost if not all five speeds installed in the 4X series in OZ were in the BJ42 those I believe had the hand brake on the axle. On the 40 series I would much rather have the correct shifter location than the hand brake on transfer case. Hand brake on the axle is a better way to go on the short wheel base 40. Transmission hump is way to small for a H55F. I shortened a 76 transmission hump for my 68. That was just a H42 with a one piece transfer case. Even with that I shimmed the front motor mounts to lower the back a little.

Brake booster was first used 7/70 in the 40 series.

Has anyone looked at this cruiser and inspected how the five was installed?

On Claudia's rig we moved the torque tube rearward a bunch and custom built a transmission cross member. We used a 3F bell without any supports to the frame. The H55 shift tower is rather tall so we had to fashion a much taller transmission hump. John

Here is a picture of the difference in the height of a three speed and four speed transmission cover 74-78. Probably still not high enough for a H55F but closer with less modification required. As for the cross member I have couple of those out of 40 series. Main section is the same, L brackets are different lengths. Shorter one is from a 82 FJ40 other is unknown. Am curious which frame/tub setup is the easiest to install the H55F. E-72, 73-78, 79+? Earlier has to be the worse. 79+ probably the easiest unless the gas tank is in the way. Those I believe you could just modify the inspection cover to fit the shifter. But that still requires finding a unicorn (4X series shifter) and having the time for the project.
