front wheel bearing question

With the front rotors off- (during the birf repack) - is it necessary to seperate the hub and rotor IF you are reusing the wheel bearings ?? It looks like you can clean and regrease/repack without seperating the two.

No need to separate them.

Thanks for the response - and I would like to add that the Birf DVD is excellent !! Anyone that is nervous about doing the birf service really needs to get a copy of it.

The birf DVD should be required viewing, it is excellent and clearly exceeded my expectations although they cheated by using air tools. PM elmariachi (above) for the DVD, this offer is not sold in stores.
 
Even if you were replacing the bearings...leave the hub and rotor together because the rotor makes the whole assembly more stable when driving out the old races and installing the new.

Yea, what he said. And be sure and wipe you rotors off good with brake cleaner before reinstalling your caliper and pads.
