Front and rear O2 sensors interchangeable?

Are the front and rear O2 sensors interchangeable on a '96? They appear to be the same except the lead on the rear is longer. Why am I asking? I have two good rear O2 sensors, one "good" front O2 sensor with a cut lead (is soldering that okay?), and one questionable front O2 sensor that is all carboned up from when the front cat burned up from an over rich fuel condition. I'd like to avoid buying a new O2 sensor if I don't need to because I just blew my budget replacing the front cat with an OEM unit (thanks Dan!!).
