you hit them on the top or sides.I always use a tiny chisel and hit the cone washers directly on each side and then in the split of the cone of Washer. Then I tap the hub body with a brass hammer (gently!). Rinse and repeat. They eventually come out but can be stubborn.

Yeah I have barely any rust but I did get them out with a brass punchLike others mentioned above. I used a small flat blade screwdriver to separate the hub and gasket as well. The bolt method worked great here but we have almost no rust issues.
