Our 80 has a little cold start stutter. IP was sweating diesel...

John came over and graciously worked on putting a different IP in with the seals all done.

when we bought the hdj81 the PO had a extensive excel sheet and receipts for all that was done. The IP and nozzles were redone in March of 2019, 8000kms ago. Just goes to show that the right hands doing the job make all the difference.

Current 12h-t situation.

Put some penetrating oil on the bolts for the heat shield. They loosened easily, happy days!

next steps will be to pull the turbo and check it. I have a ct26 from the 80 that I’m looking at options to get a little more out of it. We got a intercooler and G turbo for the 80. That’s more than I want to spend though on the 61.

then an intercooler setup to match the turbo for the 61.

Weird, as my 60 gets the hard miles and I want to freshen up the body I’m looking
at looking for something with an HD-T in it as well. Nice rigs. I can vouch for the
$$$GTurbo maybe being too much.
Have you looked into the Wink? Good ’just above‘ factory performance with great
engineering from everything I’ve heard about and read. I can vouch for the new
PDI intercoolers.

Appreciate the info.

emailed Wink, see what the details are there.

the 80 has a PDI intercooler, great combo with the gturbo.

the current market for anything 4x4 has seem to gone through the roof.

I have been looking for my dad and everything feels way over priced.

Intake Heater- normal looking?

Got a reply from Wink.

- no core exchange, these are brand new units.
- The price is 1150 euro's
- shipping is around 120 euro last time Ive shipped to Canada.

That’s top dollar! Less than GTurbo, though. How do they spec out for comparison?
If you ship PDI IC it could at least all come in a single shipment. If you do go the GTurbo route you
for sure need the silicone intake adapter as the inlet on the GTurbo is slightly larger diameter.
The factory piece won’t work.
Have you done the exhaust up to 3”?

Need to research more on the specs. Didn’t get much from wink in that regards.

Requested specs on the wink turbo.
Post back when received.

good to know about the intake adapter. Thank you.

Neetu on here sold his 61 to a friend of mine and I had the opportunity to visit him for the first inspection for my friend. He donated a few parts for an intercooler setup on my truck. One part is the item circled In yellow in the pic. Welded it on for his old setup

post 25

3” exhaust is already done.

Almost clear on the right side.

- look at the back two ports...there’s a bit of oil. Cylinder head cover leaking? I do recall that area having more oil when it was on the road.
- two of the ports...broke the bolts clean off in the head. I’ll have to research how to tap those. Hadn’t broke any bolts and today 4, in the block.

that’s it’s for this week.

Getting organized with some new shelves.

we recently did a new set of glass doors and shelves for a gas station. So instead of binning the old shelves, it will be storage for parts, tools and everything land cruiser related until it’s back on the road.

Stopped all work on the 60 for now. This summer the 80 will be in the road.

I did take the 80 to the dyno last week. It’s got a few upgrades, and wanted to see where things were at. Should have done it before the upgrades, however, starting now is fine for me. It’s not that serious.

Red is torque, blue is HP
