Here is a picture of the recovery bracket with ARB Bullbar. My friend owns a machine shop so I had him mill a little material off the bracket to clear the forward bolt.

The ARB hardware worked for me.

How deep are the ARB bolts seated? How far out can you unscrew them before they fall out? I did the math and if your set up is like mine, you've only got about 5 mm of thread holding your bull bar on. I could do that too if I don't use the lock washers & regular washers, but I don't think that's too safe to be putting tens of thousands of lbs on 5 mm of 8.8 bolt in a "walking" or "running" tug. That's why I'm holding off going that route with the ARB bolts.

If (and only if) you do have good (safe) seating of the mounting bolts, I'd love to see those brackets in action with the new ARB bull bar w/ spacer!!! Hook up a double line with your winch using the bracket and let us know how it works! Also try a tug of your vehicle from another vehicle and then try a tug using your vehicle on another.

I'm still holding out hope for the new ARB kit coming monday. The brackets look NICE.

More than 5mm on mine. I only use the lock washer.

yea those don't look like the bolts that came with my last two bull bars that I received within the last three months. They must be 100 mm long. Looks pretty safe.

Go try those brackets out and post pics!!!

remember you only need 1 nut height worth of thread, the rest doesn't do too much good... :)

Sure, but how big are your nuts? :D
Couldn't resist!

I just found out that I can't get the correct size bolts to attach the factory tow hook or this awesome d-ring bracket to my LC since the ARB bull bar has a spacer. The bolt size I need is M14 x 1.5 x 110mm. No one knows where to get it or if it's even made. I've checked with Fastenal & McMaster-Carr.

So this means I have no way to attach these super cool brackets, forwards or backwards. If anyone else has one of the new ARB bull bars with the 1" spacer or is considering one you should keep this in mind.

The FRB was designed to mount so that the 'eye' end of the FRB is pointing in the direction of the pull (mounting bolts would be trailing the direction of pull). Otherwise if you are going to install the FRB 180 degrees the stress(es) will be imparted to the FRB in a different manner. Although we didn't do a stress analysis for 180 degree/backward installations I surmise it will fail much sooner if mounted 180 off the intended orientation.

in other words, mount it the right way or risk messing some stuff up.

I've had them about 30 times. I haven't gone to the ER since the first one. I've passed several at work this year.

I can't post pics from work so it will be the end of the week before the pics...

calamaridog,

I've heard in a lecture about organic food and alternative medicine once that drinking lemon juice and olive oil will help smooth things up and make passing the stones easier. have you tried something like that?

Did you manage to source the bolts and hardware mentioned in your first post?
