After much research, and as a warning to anyone planning on adding some weight to their 100 series, I would caution you against purchasing the 2.0 replacements. I talked with a guy directly at Fox late last fall he reassured me they fixed the valving in them from their initial release date, and finally made my purchase a little over a month ago. I've logged several hundred miles on them in the last two weeks.

For a stock truck or one without a winch up front. I believe they would be a good choice. Even that said, my front end set up is approximately 160 lbs over stock, lighter weight sliders I made, combined maybe 110 additional lbs. Plus recovery gear in the back.

Initially seemed a marked improvement over worn out 4600 bilsteins. However as soon as anyone besides myself was in vehicle, handling seemed odd at highway speeds. Wish me luck, curious as to how long/content of my email to them will be handled and their response.

I'm interested to see how this progresses, as I currently have a set of them on order. My order was just pushed back to the end of April, so I have to wonder if that isn't due to the valving change you mentioned.

Ordered mine December 1st. Arrived mid January because they required special valving for the 100 series application. Haven't installed yet. Waiting to sort out my transmission issue.

That might be safe to assume. I sent a lengthy email last night about the issue I was having with them. I received a response I would imagine with in 30 minutes of them being opened up for work business today. I would like to believe they have our best interest in mind, as stated in the email below it sounds like it has been an on going issue. Other than the vehicle being down, and shipping cost I don't think I can complain to much about the situation. Which is kind of why I went with them, there's not too many businesses left in the country of this size that will still take care of their customers like this.

"Thanks for contacting us. This shock is a tricky one for us to valve due to the vast variations of the vehicles after user performed modifications. There have been a handful of revisions on the tune of this shock and actually another one in process right now as we seek to find a common baseline that will satisfy the highest percentage of users right out of the box.

The good news is we have a recipe for exactly what you describe. Due to the added weight and the nature of your use, we should bump up the rebound damping and minimize the free bleed.

Turn around time for this work is generally about 3-5 days. We typically charge $25 per shock for this service but please complete the attached service form and include in each package shipped. Also include this email response as I’d like to WAIVE THE REVALVE FEE."

So now I just need to decide on buying some stockers for the mean time or be smart and saving my money!!

I'm glad they waived your fee, but can't help but think they're full of crap about all the revisions and the "trickiness" of the 100. A car that seats eight (and there are many out there) has a wide range of typical weights. FOX has been dorking around with this for almost two years now. The only explanation that fits is them trying to move old, known-bad inventory, and hoping no one complains, and fixing it when and if they do. No way a reputable and experienced shock company like that should have SO much trouble dialing in a simple shock. Especially for 4x the price of OEM...

(Yeah, mine are still kicking around on the garage floor where I left them)

I couldn't agree with you more! I almost went with bilstein 5125 universals but have been down that road...

Quick question for those of you who have the Fox shocks. Do they include all the bushings and what not? I read for OEM you need to buy that separately from the shocks.
Yes, they come complete, though the Fox setup uses less metal bushing retainers due to the poly bushings are molded to fit up in the shock mount hole. Don't chuck your OEM hardware, you might want it someday, and it's not cheap.

Anyone have an update on these? I'm about to pull the trigger on a set and I'd love to hear how goes it.

The truck has MT sliders and belly/mid/front underarmor. Otherwise it's light as a feather. Well, for an LC. I was thinking of pairing with OME 865 springs and stock LC or OME t-bars.

Cheers

Phat-

I personally wouldn't recommend them at this point. If you absolutely need new shocks, I would steer you to the stock replacements.
Even with my setup, I'm no where near gvwr/payload capacity. I'm getting my set in the mail today. I haven't had time. Per their time line should have them back then around the 30th of April......But don't know if I will be still home in time to install them before leaving to South Carolina for work until the middle of July.

I installed my Fox 2.0 067 rears in Aug 2013 and have around 33,000 miles on them. I have been very happy with them. They can be a little soft at times but other 99% of the time they are great. I don't do much offroad and my truck is usually lightly loaded. But it has been loaded up too and the good ride remained. The one negative about them is that they are too short for lifted trucks that get wheeled. Well that and the hardware that comes with them is lacking compared to OME's. I used a combination of OME and Fox hardware for my install.

I wish I could provide feedback on the fronts but cannot.

Any reason you didn't use one brand all around? The information I read said they were good for lifts up to 1.5", but that's all the farther I'm going for the time being.

When you say the hardware is lacking, do you mean the mounting hardware? If so, could the OEM hardware be used instead?

I bought my 100 off my parents after they bought an '06. It had 219,000 on it and my dad had just put new front shocks on, Gabriels. Since they were brand new and rode fine I couldn't see dumping them when I did my lift at 235,000 miles. So I decided to only buy new rear shocks for a lifted truck, OME's. They were on 3000 miles and I couldn't take the "fast tractor" like ride so I bought the Fox 2.0's after reading some reviews on here. I eventually want ICON's all around but I want a lot of things.

For the top mounting of the rear fox shocks, they came with 2 bushings (top and bottom of frame mount) and 2 washers whereas the OME's came with 4 washers and bigger poly bushings. So I used the OME stuff after a few months with just the Fox stuff. I think you could use the OEM, or combination of Fox and OEM if the OEM isn't worn out. Ignore the bushing by the tube of grease but the washers and bushing by the glove is what went on the top side of the frame mount. Yes lots of grease and anti-seize for the land of salt...

Thanks for the info. I'll keep this in mind when I switch mine out (if they ever come).

So my order just got pushed back again to May 6th. I emailed Fox asking what the deal was, and will report back if I get a response. I'm debating canceling my order and looking at other options though.

Edit: I spoke with Fox customer service and they confirmed the valving change, but said it was done a while ago. They also recommended the 200 series rear shock, as a heavy duty option for our trucks and the 2010+ 4Runners. The part number for that one is 985-24-124.

As of my delays through Autoanything, apparently since they aren't a registered dealer for Fox, they source them through TransAmerican, and the delay somehow due to this arrangement.

Mine came with the Fox shocks when I bought it but I think I am going to replace them with OME's and this is why...
They seem soft and I prefer a ride on the stiffer side (insert jokes here lol)
My LC is not a daily driver and when I use it, it's loaded down with gear plus all the vehicle mods, and I tow a pop up.
I have a 2.5" lift and not sure why these where put on with that much lift but I want the correct shock to lift.
This most likely won't get swapped out until August so please no PMs if you want my old Fox 2.0s I will post them for sale when they are off.

I'm in basically the opposite position. My truck is my DD and I have no extra weight at the time being, although skids and sliders are in the works. If you were taking them off in May I might hit you up, but I don't want to wait that long. Out of curiosity, when were they bought? Fox says they revalved them in late 2013-2014

Shocks were installed in early 2014. Did someone early mention something about missing parts if I want to ditch the Fox shocks?
