Four Days stuck in 1st and 2nd gear low Range

Then finding the Saddle trail, steep climb where it was nice to be double locked, adam had some troubles, and the open bronco 2 with the mini swampers couldn't find enough traction in the loose rocks (and believe me it was steep, all my loose crap was riding up against my rear hatch)

The trail climbed high quickly and gave us some nice views of the valley below, still lots of climbing to go though as it seemed we were only half up from the valley floor where we camped the earlier night. Note the trail were were on was almost entirely covered by vegetation, I don't think a quads been on there for years.

Looks awesome. How much further do you guys figure you can get on that trail?

Well I calculated on google earth, that we were 15km in from the start of the trail, then it is 7km to the Lake, or 11km to the Saddle. I think to actually make from the saddle to the other lake would be impossible, but outside chance of making it, probably another 20km from the saddle though, so would probably be quite the expedition to make it in there. But then from our lake its only like 5 km to PG side logging roads, but no road conecting the two. just , time and a little effort.

Amanda stuck for the last time. Then back (which we cleared a few hundred feet of the trail of the nasty dead burnt wood to make it in faster then next trip) past the water crossings and washouts, to the bog.

This time we had to climb the ledge, not just drop into the bog, but didn't have the power to make it out, and just buried the back end enough to get some swamp water inside to sleep with at the next campspot (I cleaned the best I could with a rag and water, then slept on a tarp)

So then I backed up after a few good tries, and tried the other side, also a no go, so then adam told me to step aside and let daddy show me how its done.

Anyway after some impressive muck chucking (that big 460 sure can spin those 38s) adam couldn't make it either, so he tried the long way around and made it pretty easily, even amandas bronco 2 made it no problem (damn wish I know that before I filled up the inside with skeg water). We ended up camping just past the falls on the last day and made it home with no other problems on the rest of the trail back. That is it boys and girls, that is all the pictures and story I got left.

Part 2 started with the dissapointment that we may not make it back here this year, due to work, as august long didn't pan out, and the rest of the weekends looked bad also. Then all of a sudden some of my work got postponed and adam decided that he could posibly get friday off as well, so wednesday we got a plan, thursday it got oked at work, and thursday after work I switched back the insurence from Blue (drove the 42 around for the past few weeks, cause I missed driving old school) and threw all my stuff in the wagon and we headed off around 4. got to tumbler, ran into Charla going to camp. Then to the OJay road to air down and I took off to the trail head to leave room for adam to follow without dust. got to trailhead in an hour, no adam. came back, and he couldn't get the big bronco to start, timing chain he figures musta gone. So a buddy came and picked him up around midnight, I camped out by the main gravel road, adam had 3 hrs sleep and then he came back at 10 on friday with Amandas bronco and off we went.

Didn't get as many photos this time cause we already had most of the cool obsticals pictured last trip, we could take a million more cool ones too, but then we would spend all trip taking photos and wouldn't get anywhere on the trail, it is really a trip to be there, since 95% of the trail is really nice wheeling obsticals and scenery. Sucks that you really have to punish your truck with branches though, but that was one of our goals this weekend to do some trail clearing. Plus we had to put the stakes into our bridge to make it strong and to help it from washing away, and was the main reason adam drove in with the second truck instead of just turning around before we even got there.

I got lazy pulling into the first big river crossing, cause it's tough turning a locked front sometimes, so then I ended up floping on my drivers door, just a little dent though.
