My 40 was recently totaled :( so now I've got some insurance money burning a hole in my pocket. The fiancé is pushing me towards a vehicle with more passenger 'refinements'. Has anyone checked this 60 out?

I might head down this weekend to check it out, if so any suggestions on some things I should look for/ask. It's been an east coast vehicle all it's life (Florida) last 5 years it's been in VA.

What sort of major work does anyone think I may have on my hands in the coming years with this sort of mileage?

Thanks!!!

Sorry to hear about your truck, but it does bring opportunity.

I think that this truck is overpriced. It is high mileage (not necessarily a bad thing, but that does affect price) and it has few mods. I would think 6 or 7k?

Definitely check for rust in the rear quarters and frame.

he says nada is $12k?. that sounds like a load off crap. What are u buying it for? I've got a 62 with less miles with some rust holes for a lot cheaper. That thing is way overpriced. I've got a 100 series that i'll sell you for $11,800 with the same miles on it. https://forum.ih8mud.com/uzj100-lx470/708833-sale-2002-land-cruiser-198kmiles-11-800-obo-va.html

Thanks for the offer, my heart is set though on a 60. I'm mainly looking for something to do some light off-roading, OBX beach driving, weekend beer run, etc. I don't need anything heavily modified, a small lift at the very least, just something clean looking. If you come across any in the area I'm always looking!

there have been a few 60/62s that pop up in Manassas for about $6K

I remember there being a lifted blue one with a roof rack and a few white ones. That blue one has been on CL for at least a year now...
I would expect rust on every east coast truck, so always plan for that.

Way over priced, IMO.

I don't know anyone paying $10k for a 60/62 unless it has a SBC swap or a diesel swap.

Scour the 'Mud classifieds. You'll find 60/62 in just as good condition going for $4-$6K all over the USA.

Ah, too bad...I might have tried to sell you mine!

All wagons should be red.

I totally agree. Or maybe tan.
