I'm running some wires to the back of my truck so I took the scuff panels of the drivers side doors. Found this:

The drivers side was understandably the worst, but all four had at least some rust. Might want to check them out on your truck. They're easy to pop off, just a few plastic snaps holding them on, but they might be a little brittle on older trucks.

I hit the rust with a wire brush and painted over it, then put electrical tape on it before I but the scuff plates back on so I shouldn't have the same problem for at least another 10 years.

When you wear boots all week long, it's worth dropping the occasional wrench on your foot in flip-flops on the weekend.:D

I found rust in the same spot (on the OZ truck, which cops a lot of salt water), but couldn't think of a way to describe it for the board. Scuff panels!
