It looks like my leak is coming from one of my transmission lines. I think it's the outlet, if I'm not mistaken.

What's the procedure for replacing it? I found it this morning as it was leaking quickly enough for me to catch a few drops as I was getting in to drive to work.

depends if the line is broke cracked or buggered up in any way......
Is it the connection thats leaking? or the line itself.? If it is the line itself, remove and replace.

I assume the leak is at that clamp. That is a common place for rust, it's possible the line has rusted through. You can bypass it with a hose all the way from cooler to tranny, but truthfully if you want to fix it properly you should just replace the rusted hard line.

Thanks guys.

So what's the process for getting in there to check it out. The most involved thing I've ever done on any trans was doing a simple fluid and filter change on my wife's Corolla. I'm about as green as it gets.

first I would spray that area with some GUNK or degreaser to clean it all off. Then inspect the line to see where it is actually leaking from. If it is the line... disconnect it and replace the hard line. Let me know if you need more help.

Seconded. That has helped me find some strange leaks on all sort of vehicles. In a pinch, if it is a fast drip, I've used carb/parts cleaner but that's prolly not so good for the rubber lines/o-rings,etc. Like I said, in a pinch.

And TP, now is a good time to consider a tranny (plate) cooler. My truck really needed one and I've never seen an overtemp yet. Messy and time consuming but well worth it. I have mine mounted in dead center in front of the AC rad. I kinda just spliced it in and it's not the prettiest job down under but it seems solid to me.

Sounds good. I'll get it cleaned out first and then move from there. It's been a slow leak up until this morning. All the sudden when it was warming up this morning before I left for work, I noticed that it was dropping every 2-3 seconds from that spot.

I've read a lot about this and definitely want to eventually do it. Unfortunately it's not in the budget right now. :(

Waiting for Friday. It's my day off/payday and I'll actually have an hour or two to hopefully figure it out.

My other question, and I have a feeling it might be a stupid one, do I need to drain the transmission before hand? I'm almost positive it's a yes, but thought I'd ask.

Also: I just noticed that quote in your signature and thought it was pretty fitting when compared with the one in mine. Haha

Transmission cooler...

I got a B&M #70268 thru Amazon.com for around 50 bucks with free shipping, haven't put it in yet but it's a pretty inexpensive part. Came highly recommended on some of the threads here. Hope to be installing it this weekend.

Just a thought.
