Found a local trade 2013 LC with 3k miles, listed at $71k, going by the dealership tomorrow to try and see what the best price they will offer. I do have some inside info and should be able to find out exactly what they have in it...what do you guys think I should pay for the LC?

Depends on how motivated they are to move it. If they are willing to work I think maybe 63-65k out the door. Remember the customer pool base that buys 200 LCs is very shallow. Not alot of people can afford them They're usually lifer Toyota and LC buyers so dealers will wait on them. Rare is the dealer that even entertains lowball offers from the guy who wants to trade his F150 in for " a little more room". That's my 2 cents.

^^ I agree with the lower end there. I paid less than what they are asking for my 2013 new in September of 2012.

The lowest they would go was 68,000. They also really didn't want to trade for my truck. Basically, I need to sell my truck myself then go buy the land cruiser. What is crazy is there are several in Dallas and Houston listed around 70,000 on the Web brand-new.

That's not surprising about your truck. Land cruisers legendary dependability is really the new markets bane. People buy used ones even with 100-150k cause they know they will still get a long long life out of it and they are drastically lass expensive than a new one. Remember nationwide dealers move about only 300 new units per year. In fact if demand is low they will just not build a model that year..like 2011. So....dealers can afford to be very selective when selling new ones
I bought my 200 used.in 2012. It was one year old with 22k miles and got it for 58k it was the GMs wife's grocery getter, so it was babied you can find really good deals on ones that are only one or two years old. If your looking for a phenomenal deal then look for the ones that are the less desirable colors. The most two desirable colors are black and the silver pewter color. The salsa red, horrid Toyota gold and white ones...or any dual tone like the burgundy and tan one are all ones they have a hard time selling. When you get one please do post pics. Would love to see it.

Also. This may be a little politically incorrect, but you can scour the classifieds or Craigslist in urban/metro areas or even check some non Toyota dealerships for ones that have been pimped out. My buddy got a once in a lifetime price on one that some guy dropped 24 dubs on,
changed the grill out, had cheap fake chrome stuck all over the quarter panels and sides and a hideous sticker across the back window that said "Black Smoove". Poor move by the dealer to trade for that or buy it outright. He obviously didn't know much about the cruiser market. My buddy said it sat on the lot for 2 months before he even went in to look at it. When he left the salesman called him every night for a week. Finally he went back in to look at it a week later and he said the poor guy was completely desperate. He got a 2010 for 45k. Once in a lifetime...

Was, by any chance, this "blasphemy" located in Dallas? :)

No. It was in DC. But invariably and without a doubt there is one similar to that one in,the Dallas Metro Area C'mon..it's the dirty souff.

There are some interesting rides in Memphis these days...

Do yourself a favor and call each place listing anything "new" at less than invoice. You will likely find that "new" to a dealer only has to mean "never titled" yet it will have 3000, 5000, miles on it. I did the same thing getting excited about "new" LC listed at ~$70k only to find out they have a bunch of miles. Worse yet, they call them "new" but if you find an actual "used" one, that is "certified" with more warranty time, you will get a better price as well as more warranty, if that's worth anything to you.
