Isn't Cooke City inaccessible right now?I was thinking this morning. We should keep our Goose Lake trip on the books. Cooke City is gonna need the tourism dollars more than ever this year. I'm sure other towns are in the same situation. Two years of Covid and now this. We better look after our neighbors.

It was already closed and not opening this summer before that happened. The switchback section was still pending repairs from previous years and thanks to Trump and Musk destroying all the responsible agencies there wasn't any staff to do the work or contract it out so it wasn't going to open this year.with all the moisture this spring pretty massive slides and washouts on the switchbacks. hopefully this won't be the excuse they've wanted to close it. magic city has pictures on fb.
I believe that comment was from almost 3 years ago. I was going to reply to your further comment and also mention about the previous administrations total lack of action with the north carolina fiasco last year with the resulting loss of at least dozens of lives but this isn't the place for political comments of that nature. It was already closed and not opening this summer before that happened. I imagine if the right people at MSU were involved (Civil Engineering Department?) They could create senior year capstone projects with a real world result. He stated (I am paraphrasing) that they have "tons of money" to repair Morrison, thanks to the FEMA disaster recovery grants, but can't get the required personnel (mostly engineers, it seems) to complete these projects.
Drew, i'm just copying and pasting off of facebook. The billings clubs have been active in following up on the 2 "temporary" closuresI imagine if the right people at MSU were involved (Civil Engineering Department?) They could create senior year capstone projects with a real world result.
