I've looked through Advanced Adapters catalog, but can't find what I need yet. I have an '80 FJ40 with a tired small block chevy in it. Was goin to look at the 3.9 Cummins route but concerned about giving up drivability and the weight.

I prefer the small block Ford to the Chevy, smaller, lighter, and design points I feel are better but that's a different argument. Anyhow, hoping to keep my current drivetrain for simplicity's sake and deal with motor mounts only. Anybody have the know how to point me to the right set up, to mate to my SM420 already in the truck with a current crate Ford 302? Thanks folks.

Want to maintain the same drive train and I'm a manual only guy, we'll see I'm sure it can be done just not common for sure.

Close but no cigar, Ford trans / chevy bell:

"LAK - 77-205 Transmission adapters, Ford, 289/302/351 C/W, 6 Bolt Blocks, GM muncie/Saginaw, BW T-10."

Sell the SM420 and get an NP435.

jimkeyser thanks very much, I'll get on their case that's just what I'm after.
