I bought this land cruiser in October 2000 from an ebay dealer in Houston. The license plate frame reads Galleria Imports of San Antonio so I assume it’s been in Texas all its life. I’ve never run a carfax however and would be interested to see what you get. VIN is JT3FJ62G0K0098880.
No smoke or oil use. No rust anywhere. 14-16 mpg. 4wd works good. A/C works well. Engine always runs cool even on hot days. I’ve not off-roaded it in the hobby sense, but it has spent some time off pavement around the farm and ranch. Overall it’s in good shape and there’s I'd bet it will easily go another 100,000 miles. Has an aluminum grill guard and off-road lights. Aftermarket sliding windows are installed in the rear section.
Following is the maintenance done on the cruiser since I've had it. I bought the vehicle in October of 2000 with 117,000 miles. It's got about 162K now.
• 11/2000 Replaced gas tank under Toyota recall.
• 12/2000 Alternator repaired. Alternator went out and I took it to an alternator shop. They replaced an electrical part and said it did not need a complete rebuild.
• 2/2001 Speedometer cable replaced.
• 5/2001 New exhaust from the cats back.
• 6/2001 Replaced o-ring between transmission and transfer case. Had trans fluid leaking into the transfer case. Also replaced t-case idler shaft and bearings.
• 6/2002 Radiator flush.
• 9/2002 New tires. BFG AT 31x10.5. About 135,000 miles.
• 12/2002 New water pump, new thermostat.
• 4/20/2003 New belts.
• 2/15/2004, 146,100 miles, Original transmission replaced with a used unit. New t-case gaskets and seals.
• 3/1/2004, 147,000 miles, New spark plugs, new air filter, adjusted valves.
Existing issues/problems
• Power antenna does not lower.
• Typical tear in drivers seat.
• Slight leak from the rear main seal. A few drips on the floor after it’s been driven. No other leaks.
• I plan to fix the following in the next few weeks: new passenger window switch, get the passenger electric locks working reliably, rewire offroad lights, new liftgate shocks, new front stereo speakers.
Exterior
• The original paint shines nicely I still get lots of compliments on it. However, there are a few nicks and scratches as would be expected with a vehicle this age. 7 out of 10 on the paint.
• Two stars/chips in the windshield.
• Some delamination of the clear coat on the roof and hood. I’ve taken pictures, but it’s minor and you may not be able to see it.
• On the passenger fender, it looks as if some battery acid or something got on the paint. Where the drops hit the paint, there is some fading. About 6”x4”. I took a picture of this also.
