1972 FJ55 (July '72)
Color: White/blue/ with occasional gray primer spots for that "Wow!" factor.
Drivetrain: carb'd 350, rebuilt TH350, 205 t-case. Currently not running, but just needs a bit of engine wiring & driveshafts to be running/driving. Everything else is there & works.
Body: A few dents mostly in the rear quarters, Otherwise in pretty good shape. Looks like a previous owner tried to pull them out with a dent-puller but gave up. Bodywork was an "I'll get to it someday" project. I cut out the rusted-out rocker panels & lower front fenders but left enough to be able to weld in new ones or sliders. Rear window needs new plastic gear, otherwise works. Drivers door lock needs to be fixed, (only opens if you use the inside handle) but I have extra parts to fix it in a box.
Interior: Front bench seat. Good seat covers. New rear seat cover from Spector. Even has a carpet kit for the cargo area. Headliner okay, but several small tears patched with white duct tape. I fixed a few small holes in the front floor with new welded-in sheetmetal & patched with POR15. Looks kinda butch, but hey, it's under the friggin' floormats. Floormats are in great shape. Rear heater blower works.
Axles: Sprung over, greasable shackles, front ARB, stock gears (4.11's), Longfields, minitruck disc brakes/knuckles, high-steer, Marlin tie-rod/draglink, FJ80 TRE's, scout saginaw power steering. Rear axle: disk brakes, spooled (lincoln locker).
Misc: Warn/Belleview 6000 winch (works, but not wired) OEM mirrors, twinstick 205 shifter, roofrack. Tires are 32" BFG AT's on some rusty wagon wheels that were on it when I bought it. I've also got a couple boxes of extra parts that I'll throw in if you want them. I also have a NP203 to use for a doubler & a new 35" MTR on a new 8" black rockcrawler rim from another project that's just sitting around if you bring some extra cash.
Everything worked when I bought it 3 years ago & pulled it into the garage for the teardown. Currently registered non-op in Calif.
Yes it has a hood
I took it off for easy access to the engine bay.
I no longer have time for wheeling or wrenching because: 1.) my buddies all sold their rigs & bought boats/jetskis/motorcycles, 2.) disapproving looks from the wifey when I track gear oil all over the house, 3.) I have kids, 4.) I've lost interest & need the garage space.
Could be turned into a nice wheeling rig pretty quickly with fairly minimal additional work. Bring a trailer & take it home before I change my mind…
$3500 obo …
Make me an offer...

I'm in & out of the house most days & I don't get onto 'Mud much anymore either. Might be easier to contact me via email...
