1987 FJ60 Project Truck (SOLD)

1987 FJ60 project for sale Now $750.00 located in Pasadena CA SOLD
I picked this FJ60 up with the plans to restore but reality set in and I just don't have the time. I had it towed to the house and tried once to get it to start with no success (fuel delivery problem I think) so the title paper work has been started but it lacks a visual confirmation of the VIN by the DMV folks at AAA.
The body and frame look nice and straight.
All 4 tires have decent tread left on them.
The radiator appears to be new.
UPDATE!!
PHILOS1 came over and did a compression check and 5 and 6 have zip, nada, nothing for compression
Some pic's can be viewed here

Looks pretty clean, any rust?

More pictures of the frame, doors, roof sills, rocker panels would be appreciated.

Would you complete the title application prior to sale?

Thanks

I will try and take some more shots tomorrow. From what I see, there are just a few spots of surface rust on the roof and by the drivers side rear window

I'm working on that, maybe since whoever buys it will have to trailer/tow it we can run by AAA and then we can wrap up the paperwork there.

Interested. Is there any reason I couldn't title in Texas? Don't know a ton about titling. Where is it titled now and is it 'clean'?

Consider me a long shot. Don't know how I could get that here on my meager budget, but I'm currently exploring possibilities. Very interested in seeing close pics of the rust.

Thanks!

Like I need encouragement...I'm still thinking:o:o:o

OK, so I looked at this 60 on Friday night and I think it's a great deal. Unfortunately with pending surgery on my still-broken clavicle (and my desire for an 80) I have to pass.

The good: nice straight body, original paint, decent to good interior, pretty much everything is there/original, VERY MINIMAL surface rust - it really is just on the surface. It should be pretty easy to get it running too.

The bad: lots of leaks incuding PS pump, valve cover gasket, knuckle seals. Needs all hoses/belts, a small bit of rust between the frame rails at the very rear left side (DS), DS seat is toast, dash has a crack, clear coat is peeling in spots.

I still think this is a good deal, and I'm already kicking myself for letting it go. If anyone has any specifics about this rig, let me know and I'll answer as best I can.

cheers,
s.

Bump for price reduction ($950.00)

Lowered the price to $950.00

Who'd you get it from? What's the previous registration status? I see no plates. I fear many 10s of Benjamin's owed to the governator.

My kids are looking for something. The price is right. If I was sure it had CA DMV non-op status, I could send paypal and pick it up next Saturday.

It looks like it was originally a CA car ("2F CAL" sticker on inner fender), last registered in AZ, AFAIK. When I looked at it, he stated that he had started the registration process and that he had already paid the fees. My guess is that it wouldn't take much to finish the paperwork as a PNO.

Call him and ask - he's a pretty cool guy.

cheers,

The paperwork has been started, Uncle Arnie got his payola and DMV just needs a visual confirmation of the VIN so no hidden fees.
Please call with any questions
Shane, thank you for the follow-up post and the good words :beer:
