Thanks to the wonderful information shared here over the years, I successfully flushed and replaced AHC fluid that was probably original (165k miles). Unfortunately, I'm still running into issues with the AHC and not sure how to isolate what to address next.
Prior to the flush, the vehicle rarely if ever responded immediately to pressing Hi - N - Lo. If it did adjust it typically happened once I was driving. Currently, I'm not certain but I believe the rear wheels respond in a similar fashion but the front don't. They appear to be stuck in Hi, and when the rear wheels are also in the Hi position the dash still shows N. The ride mostly sucks.
I thought maybe the front globes needed to be replaced given they don't seem to move (and certainly at least not on command), but it also seems like the vehicle doesn't really know what height the wheels are at. Despite being high in both the front and back the dash shows 'N.' Which makes me wonder about the height sensors.
