thought you guys might like to know that we took my troopy on a couple thousand mile road trip over the weekend with only minor bumps in the road. my speedo cable gave out a few hundred miles down the road and we had to adjust the brakes one good time, but everything else was smooth sailing.

I was born and raised in New Braunfels, I have lost many brain cells on the Guadalupe River! Did you have a cold one at Gruene Hall? I used to work there, I miss home!

Great pics. Looks like you had fun.

Took my new troopy out for its first wheeling run last weekend. Outperformed my expectations and was equal to the task of some pretty tough sand dune tracks. Nothing like redlining the 2F on the run up and smashing it up and over the crest in first gear:cool: Didn't miss a beat although there is now P/S fluid all over the engine bay:doh:

Nice not to pack a tent too - just roll out the sleeping bag and close the doors! Keeps the dingos at bay!

Great pictures - thanks! Reminds me of some FJ40 stupidity/fun I had in Upper Michigan (Keewenau peninsula) in 1992.

I have also lost quite a few brain cells (and sunglasses) on the Guadalupe in New Braunfels and at Port A in my younger days. Good times!

I look at the Guadalupe everyday now. It flows right through the middle of Kerrville. It's about 300 yards downhill from my shop.

Missipboy,
Looks like it was a pretty cool trip. Nice Troopy. Did ya'll do any fishing?

I like the pics, but since I am an Aggie, I'd sorta like to cut off those horns. Might not make sense to you unless you are from Texas.

i don't exactly remember everywhere we went, but we started driving to a campground near mount pleasant, tx on thursday night. then off to bonham, tx to visit texican and see what he had going on in the shop. from there to dallas to shower at a friends house. stopped in waco at george's bar and picked up a buddy there. went to our campground in austin, which turned out to be full, so we continued on to the guadalupe. from there it's kinda hazy. i know we visited fredricksburg, georgetown, luckenbach, and i think lb johnson's farm(or something like that). then on through houston and port a. to natchez, ms and then up the natchez trace for a while and back home.:grinpimp:
