I have just got back from working on the cruiser all day.
Of course the dealership didnt have the battery I needed .
So they had to order it .
I did get the black rock crawler rims installed . :)
They look sweeeet !!!
I would like to know what the best spray on liner is because flare removal
is next.
I searched but never really heard anything about rhino lining.
Is this stuff anyn good?

I have had both Rhino and Line-X in my truck beds, and I would recommend the Line-X for off road armoras it's much harder than the Rhino. The Rhino was nicer for keeping things in place in the bed of a truck though.

Who would want to do anything like that???
Bedliner on a Land Cruiser?

:D

When I had mine done, I shopped around a bit and found that the different brands were very comparable. Get a few quotes and go with the best one from a reputable shop.

Do you want to spray just the flares or part of the body as well?

I want the flares gone.
They are just to fancy for me :princess:
Plus no one in my area has removed
their flares yet. So I would be a little
different for about a week until some
one else does it
I will have the spray-on liner cover
where the flares used to be.
Dont know about filling the flare
clip holes yet.

While on the subject,
Are the flares fiberglass or plastic?
Mine were sandblasted last time I went wheeling in an area that had a a lot of loose sand, the truck is green, but the inside of flares looks white (primer?) pitted. I was thinking about cover the inside of the flares with some of the "roll-on" type of bed coating. There is even one at the local auto paint supply that can be tinted. By doing this I can keep the flares and protect the inside part (exposed to sand and rocks thrown by the tires).
Any opinions?

Thanks,

Based on another thread, the flares from his 91 are fiberglass.j

91/92 - fiberglass
93/94 - fiberglass -- wider than 91/92
95-97 - flexible plastic - same width as 93/94, but not interchangeable.

No Power, where in KY are you? I'm in Frankfort. When I get all my junk in and installed we will have to hit a trail.

Edit for tech: I read in one of the 4x4 mags that when they rhino lined an avalanche they just stuck masking tape over the holes left from the cladding.

Can't you just sand the clear coat off the flares and then just use the spray on bedliner stuff that comes in a can?

Never used the stuff...but theoretically, you could.

You could use the roll-on stuff that comes in a can too.

You might want to find yourself some wire tape though to make cutting the liner stuff easier. Most places use wire tape to cut the sprayed on liner material around the masked area.

I have used the spray on kind and did not have good results...to me the duplicolor brand stuff looks like rubberized undercoating....I have also used the roll on kind with pretty good resultsit was also the duplicolor that you can buy at Walmart  for $40 a gallon...it does scratch though....I coated the floor in my bronco with it and it has held up fairly well except for around corners and bends(prob my fault for not applying it thick enough)....It looks a lot like some of the spray on if you use the textured rollers that they sell...It is a really nasty job to do though...I can take some pics of my floorboards in the bronco if you would like to see what the roll on looks like
