Caveat emptor with this one, fellow mudders.

This rig was listed as sold in a completed Ebay auction just 36 hours prior to this Mud listing being created. Same pics. On the East Coast of Florida. Sellers name is Bryan, some sort of used car dealer based on the cell phone number in the Ebay ad. That account's only other Ebay auctions were for dinky-dunk stuff that gets swiped out of mostly high-line cars and resold on Ebay.

This very fresh Mud seller is claiming to be on West Coast of Florida. Not named Bryan.

The story doesn't align for me, at all.

Here's the completed ebay listing:

Draw your own conclusions.

Thank you for posting, Ace10!

This is indeed one in the same...not hiding anything here. The winning bidder "Electronicsgaragesale2014" is my eBay handle. Moreover, I encourage anyone looking to purchase this vehicle and is local to me in the Tampa, Fl area, schedule and view the vehicle and see for yourself. As you can tell by the pictures (200+), this was a vehicle too good to pass up!

Open to any and all input...

I cant stand it when dealers paint the undercarriage! If you have nothing to hide, then take honest pictures and let the "owner to be" decide how to mitigate the rust. You're not fooling anyone on this site...

Isn't this how all Florida cars with 175k miles look underneath?

Missed a spot of paint on the driveshaft!

Okay, so it appears there transitioning phase I need to go through before becoming a contributing member to this group.

With that understanding, I'm open to taking my vehicle to a reputable shop in/around the area (Tampa, FL.) and having them post their input through their eyes...then circle back and report my findings...

Thoughts? Input? Am I crazy in this providing this option?

I think you would have had a different response if you were up front. There are several guys who do quick flips on the forums, but they aren't "mulling it over with the wife". They just say, hey guys, I got a smoking deal on a clean cruiser/LX/GX and I would like to see an enthusiast get it or whatever. Just be honest and up front, and make some money.

My opinion at least.

Paint was done by the eBay seller, not by OP. Still, a very shady practice that is an obvious attempt to cover corrosion and leaks.

Same truck back on eBay? Did op return or not complete the purchase?

2005 Lexus LX Luxury Sport Utility 4-Door | eBay

Yeah, This one goes in the books as TOTALLY SHADY.

That NEW ebay listing is posted by the same shady seller that was in the Ebay listing I linked in second post in this thread.

The personal information the OP gave me (name, location) does not matchup to the Ebay seller.

MUDDERS, watch yourselves.

Update Mudders!

I 'was' the original buyer, and after reading all the 'warning' signs members shared (painted underbody, specifically); I spoke with the seller and requested he accept a return of the vehicle - he accepted with no issues (which is kinda odd...IMHO)

Since all the information has come to light and is on the table, the Mudder population should know how to proceed, especially in terms of condition and priced paid (previous eBay auction available for viewing).

Hope this helps!

Oh, and pay close attention to the previous listing, "Ace10" posted compared to the 'new' listing...specifically the Carfax history, which...well see for yourself

You mean this odd change?

And the maintenance...

Also, consider the dealer is not an aficionado in this particular space, there are so many little details one picks up from researching/things to look for. That being said, not everything is as obvious to some, as it is to others...so be kind in your queries with the seller...he really is a nice guy to do business with.
