Paul if you remove the pitman arm they fit nicely in USPS flat rate boxes. You might even be able to squeeze one in the large boxes with the arm on it.

The Pitman arm is usually so difficult to remove, especially trailside where it usually gets broken, that I no longer try. Once the box is off, removing the Pitman arm is extremely difficult, while on the Cruiser, it is only extremely difficult. I considered carrying my trail spare wthout the Pitman arm to save space until I had the experience of trying to help a broken down cruiser with a broken sector shaft, remove his pitman arm so he could use it on my box to get him home. I have tried heat, cold, two different pitman arm pullers, assorted hammers, different sized pickle forks, PB blaster, and even bad language and patience to make those guys come off easier. Is there a trick?
