Over the past few weeks, on three occasions my truck has acted like it was running out of gas. It would always recover and continue to run. Finally this week it did not recover. I can get it to start after a few tries, but it stumbles and dies.
This is what I have checked:
1. Fuel Pump Running
When I turn on the key, I cannot here the fuel pump. When I jump the bypass circuit I can hear the pump running.
2. Checked EFI Relay per manual
Everything checks out
3. Checked Circuit Open (under passenger side kick panel)
Everything checks out
4. Replaced Fuel Filter
5. All Fuses Good
6.Computer Codes
Received Error 28 - Related to Oxygen Sensor
I have aftermarket duel catalytic converter I have been running for 2 years.
What I did not check:
1. Fuel Pressure Regulator
Did not have gauge
Question:
Should the pump come on when I turn the key to the on position?
Am I looking in the right direction or should I be looking at another part of the engine system? Timing? Ignition?
