FJ62 rear engine seal (1 Viewer)

My mechanic that is rebuilding the transmission has been getting a rear engine seal that is measuring 4"ID and he's measuring the crank seal that's on the engine (see photo ) and it's measuring 4 1/2" ID. He's gotten two seals, one from a Dealer and one from Specter OR and there the same. It's not leaking that much so if we can't figure out what to do I just have him finish the Trans and put it back together. Any incites out there?

SOR is not a Toyota dealer and for the most part they sell aftermarket parts.
Go with the part that was purchased from the Toyota dealership.

The Toyota part number for the FJ62 rear crankshaft oil seal:

SEAL, OIL(FOR CRANKSHAFT)

90311-99005

Is he ordering the correct seal? Maybe he's been ordering a 2F seal instead of a 3FE seal.

We have the right part with that part no. 90331-99005.

However why is it 1/2" smaller than what's on the crank.
