I posted a while back about an issue I experience with my 1989 FJ62. Whenever the tank get to about 1/4 of a tank, the engine will stutter ONLY when taking right turns. The severity of the issue gets progressively worse as the gas level gets lower. Eventually when the gas get particularly low, the engine will completely stall and require a re-ignition if the right turn is taken quickly enough.
I couldn't find any definitive advice on what to do. In desperation I went ahead and replaced the fuel pump. While the tank was down, the mechanic looked inside and the baffles appeared to be in tact. After replacing the pump the issue persists.
I filled up the 23.8 gallon tank and drove until the first signs of the issue occurred. It is starting with about 6 gallons of gas in the tank. Far too much to be a symptom of a low gas level in my mind.
Assuming that it isn't the baffles or the fuel pump, are there any thoughts out there of next items related to fuel that may be causing the issue?
