FJ62 fuel spill at the pump island

I appreciate all the posts. I consider that it must be a characteristic of these trucks.

Sometimes, I think my '62 has either a warped sense of humor or a nasty disposition!

Never had this happen with the '86 FJ60, or with the '85 FJ60 until I swapped in the 3FE, fuel tank, and associated lines, etc. I often thought I had mixed up some vent lines during the swap or that it was some quirk with the FJ62 tank. I long since learned to listen for the gurgling which indicates nearly full and then just slow down the pump at that point.

My 60 does all the time- I just est fillup and listen for the gurgle. I must admit though I feel like a huffer with my ear to gas tank, it looks like you are trying to get closer to the fumes. Although I do feel really good for awhile after filling up:hhmm:

I have a squirter...

The fuel splashes out too, if on the high setting. I usually put in the first fuel, depending on the level, fast then use the slow setting for the balance.
