The FJ62 I am having delivered has a chrome roof rack. I also wonder if this is a dealer option. Once it arrives in California (from Missouri) I will post some pictures.
I know some markets got a premuim sound system that was better than what the US market received. I install a head unit and amp from a 2000 Tundra (6 CD) into my 89. I installed the amp above the glovebox using the two studs that are on either side grill in the dash. I read on here years ago the middle east get this upgraded sound system and the amp went there. Instead of a speaker mounting there like I thought the grill was for the heat off the amp. I also installed a grab handle on the passenger's A pillar to match the one on the driver's side. I seen the threaded holes on a 88 in a junk yard. On the 89 once I poked the holes thru the material I found out Toyota did not weld the nuts in just punched the holes. I had to use some of those inserts nuts to install it. In 93 the factory floor mats were not longer available in brown. I bought and used the SOR floor mats for years. I later bought 100 series brown all weather mats off of Ebay. The fronts fill very nice. The back are okay. The back Tundra mats fit better.
I just purchased the following roof rack - seller claimed it was OEM but now it seems no such option was offered. It is possible this was a Toyota dealer option? If so, would there be a part number I can look up to confirm before I install rack? Thank you.
I think Joe nailed it. Anything else like running boards, roof racks, cruise or leather were all dealer-installed options. I hate dealer-installed options.
One thing Im not sure about is the towing package. The transmission cooler and hitch? I would think the tranny cooler would have been installed at the factory.
