1988 FJ62 Built, 350 in Seattle
We originally bought this rig as a showpiece platform for an outfitting business we were starting, but new opportunities arose before we completed the trim. It is a 1988 FJ62 with a 350 Chevy engine, an automatic transmission, a 4” suspension lift plus a 2” body lift. We put on a new Body Armor winch bumper, Old Man Emu rear shocks, new fron t differential bearings and the knuckle hubs were rebuilt. We rebuilt the steering linkage and performed a full alignment. All fluids have been serviced and we also put in a new top of the line Interstate battery. We spent a good amount of time chasing down leaks, so the Cruiser is tight at this moment. (It’s a Cruiser, so who knows how long that will last) It is wearing BF Goodrich All-Terrain 33’s that have 30-40% tread left on them. Mechanically, this rig is solid. Cosmetically, it is a black and white behemoth that wears a few scars. The interior is kind of raw, which is how we wanted it. We had full intention of playing fast and rough in the Northwest mud. She is ready to play.
Full disclosure: High Road Automotive is a 5 star Japanese-only repair facility that also has a used car dealer’s license, so this car is listed under the dealership. All of the work listed above was done by our own crew of professional technicians.
