It is actually hard to wrap my head around all the bumper choices for FJ60/FJ62....

I daily drive a bunch of miles, and I want to protect my family, myself, and my truck as much as possible from a frontal collision with an animal or a car.

While I am at it, I want to make sure I can mount a winch of decent size to whatever bumper I choose, probably an 8,000-12,000 lb unit.

I know that ARB is the standard that others are judged by, so it is on the top of my list honestly. I know that they do quite a bit of testing for safety and strength and retained shape after an impact.

In saying that, I am a bit of a weirdo when it comes to making things match, I would like a rear bumper to match the front one also. I don't see that ARB makes a rear bumper anymore.

Can Y'all help me with my choices that I have here for a rear bumper also? I would like to be able to mount a spare tire back underneath, and I can't do that with the current Smittybilt bumpers. I wouldn't even mind a bumper with a swingout capability.

I prefer the steel plate-type of bumper for safety and strength reasons, but I am not 100% on this.

So, what are my choices besides ARB, Viper, HFS, ETC?

4+ comes to mind

I like the 4+ ! Just looked at that since You mentioned it.

I like the ARB, but I don't want to go so far around the headlights, etc.

4+ is on or close to the top now

My choice was the 4+ in the front with the Kaymar with dual swing outs in the rear. Here is a pic of the front 4+ with the low profile.

Very nice, tasteful but functional. That is what I am after.

What wheels are You running?

I like that bumper. Maybe buy the rear kit from Fourrunner here on MUD and use tubing for the top portion of the tire swing out and gas can mount. It would match perfect. The 4+ is blocky yet has tubes, Fourrunners design is blocky as well, just add the tubes.

Dammit! That 62 still isn't sitting in my driveway! Wth is going on around this place!

I was looking at the kit from Fourrunner and thinking the same thing. It would match nicely and both would be stout pieces!

Check with LCWIZARD here on mud...

x2 on LCWizard. Got my front bumper for my FJ40 from him...great to deal with, fantastic price. Would be the only place I'd buy from.

Yep, 4+ nails it hands down for clean lines and function, it's what will go on my wagon.

I only wish the grill bar came up a little higher over the "Toyota" emblem with an additional crossbar below it. My primary goal is to keep a deer out of my radiator at road speeds.

Order direct from his website.

I love my 4+!
Fits perfect, not too big, and looks great.

I have now placed and order with LCWIZARD, owner of 4+, and he is a great guy to deal with!!

He is also offering a 15% discount through August to IH8MUD members!!!!

These are some awesome looking products and I can't wait to get mine installed.

He even worked with me and made me a great deal on a rear bumper without the tire carrier or jerry can mount, as I don't really have a need or the budget for these items currently (although they look and work awesome!).

Thanks for the help from the members here in keeping my purchase toward a business in the USA owned by a 'cruiserhead with awesome stuff.

Wanted to follow up on this and let Y'all know that Dave is awesome!

I had thought the same thing about wanting the center hoop to come up above the TOYOTA emblem in my grill and guess what? I asked and he said he would be happy to make that a little taller and raise the side bars up a tad also, but not too much so as to block the headlights on my FJ62.

And the best part.... Custom bumper and no price increase!

I can't wait to get it here and installed. He said to look for it all to ship by next Thursday!

I even ordered two sets of the u-bolt flip kits because mine are constantly hanging on stuff

Post pics when you get that stuff.

I have a front u-bolt flip kit. It's da bomb.

Your 62 is gonna be looking spiffy!
