Do NOT purchase from CCOT.... I ordered a set from them about a year ago and they said "Made in Taiwan" on them. I didn't know any better because I just went to their site and ordered the complete kit bc my mechanic said that's what I needed, an FJ62 complete tie rod kit. Once they were installed and I got ready for an alignment (after about 300 miles worth of driving), they showed me how much play the tie rods had in them and said it wouldn't make sense to align in that form.

I ordered up some 555 rod ends and got them installed and they were 1000% better. I then called CCOT and told them the issue with my 300 mile rods ends I bought from them and they said "we've never had anyone complain about them, have a nice day." Soooooooo while they didn't manufacture the rod ends, they were not great quality and the customer service was lacking, and there are many other vendors that I'd be happy to share my $$$ with.

YMMV.

Beno…I’d like to use Toyota OEM tie rod ends rather than the 555’s I used in the past. I know the Toyota OEM part prefix as 45044, 45045, 45046 & 45047 but having difficulty finding the part suffix or if the part numbers have been superceded? You mention “Toyota all the Way” so I’m assuming the factory parts are still available?

All four ends come as "kits": They include the ends and all appropriate hardware necessary to install. They also each come with new rods. They do not come with new clamps-- transfer those over.

45045-60H04
45046-60H05
45044-60H00
45047-60H03

One of each part number.

I had to saw 1" off the Toyota OEM tie rod end (pass. side) on my FJ62. The threaded portion of the new TRE was much longer than the 1989 part installed at the factory. Beyond that, it worked great.

Below is my trail repair of jacking the popped out ball of the TRE back into the socket, then wrapping with baling wire. My TREs were tight, but mysteriously popped apart while driving....

That’s really weird, Steve. I do believe you, however, I’m just wondering if anyone else has had this problem before I fork out a premium for an OEM quality part that requires a sawzall to fit. Could there be a difference between the FJ60-62 models or even between model years?
Beno…can you chime-in?
