Hey first time poster I just have a question about the secondary’s, I picked up this 60 almost a month ago and a mate pointed out it was lacking power I just assumed old car not much go, so I did the paper clip test on the secondary diaphragm rod and it moved maybe 3-4mm going up hill WOT I assume it would open up a fair bit more than that if they were working? I’m not overly mechanically minded with carbys as I’m coming from owning diesel hiluxs any help would be greatly appreciated

Your Aussie 3F carb should operate the secondary diaphragm similarly to the US 2F carb, despite many other differences between the carbs.

Yeah okay I’m taking the diaphragm off today to see if it holds vacuum scared to actually open it incase I bugger it, if that bit works I might have to bend the tab up a little.
