'85 JF60 and the wipers suddenly stopped. Motor ran fine so pulled it and the linkage had come loose at the old plastic bushing. Got a new / used assembly and replaced all of it. After a few adjustments the wiper range is correct but here is my problem.

When turned off instead of stopping at the bottom the motor will continue and bring the wipers about 1/3 up the stroke. Is this just a mechanical timing or any other possibility?

Sounds like the small arm bolted to your motor assembly is off by a spline or two if the range of motion for the wiper arms is good. With the motor parked you'll want the arm coming off of it to be pointing almost perfectly to the left of the rig.

That worked. Thanks, saved me a lot of trial and error.

I’m having a similar issue. I had no intermittent, and my wipers parked wherever they were when I turned them off. I bought a used wiper relay from a vendor here, installed it, and gained my intermittent back. Now when I shut them off, they park almost straight up and down. Would your advice to the other member work for me..??
