Hey, im new to this fourm:) anyways, few months ago i bout a 86 FJ60. i did a SOA, and it looks great. ive taken it on some trails and it does AMAZING!! But it needs sway bars. lol, i kno WTF am i doing without them... haha but it came without any, so i was wondering if i shud buy stock sway bars, or where can i get some for the lift.
Also, this is my first Landcruiser, so i am asking other guys with FJ60s, what other things shud be done to it?

First of all, she looks great.

What should you do next? How about sliders, lockers, doubler, beadlocks, rear storage, onboard air.... The list goes on man.

What do you intend to do with your rig? Is she going to be a DD or just a wheeler?

all of the above..... as for the sway bar get a stock on and make BIG links ... I would show you pics BUT I'm still tryin yo make mine;)

Cool, thanks guys. I will do about any type of offroading that i can find.lol, i live in WA to mostly trails and hillclimbs. im gonna thro some sliders on it, and forsure lock the rear. I sometimes will drive it around town, but i have a streetbike for comuting. personally i love the F2 engine. :D but if i did switch to something else it wud be diesel. keep the coments coming tho, i wanna hear what others have done to their rigs.

Thank You

Exactly. Search for Toybox and you will be educated.

thanks for the link:)

traction bars? what is the advantage of those?

arnt they for 2 different things? swaybars for body roll, and traction bars for axle wrap"??

I've seen them called trac-bar , panhard bar to that thar watchamacallit bar. It controls the side to side movement of your axle and when installed it should be parallel to the axle.
Traction bars .....well are for traction. They control axle wrap. I don't think you would need these. If you do .... I would fab up a " Y " bar set up . They work and they are tucked up and out of the way everything.
Sway bars are for body roll and with as top heavy as LC are they all need sway bar if they are gonna be DD's. If just offroading , I would still recommend it but put removable links.

Give me a little details on your lift and tire size.

thanks

anti - wrap on the rear axel?
did you cut n turn your front axel?
quick release sways if your gunna run sways
rear swing gates with spare tire?
roof rack?
what is your tranny?
what gears in your axels?

Definitely need protection for the trails out here in the NW. Add some rear quarter protection as well since the 60's butts get abused. I've driven mine for a couple of years without swaybars, just anticipate. Improve the stock head lights. As weaknesses show up, fix them with something stronger.

Upgrade your shocks to some proper heavy duty ones, bilsteins work well, and you shouldnt feel the need for sway bars.

Looks great!!!

2FE?
Convert the front clip to a 62s? :o

:D

cool, thanks for all the input!!!
@General, it has a OME 1.5 inlift i think, the guy B4 me put that on, but i wanted more clearance. so i did the SOA, 33/12.5/15 tsl super swampers.
