try to find 3.5 Backspace---3.75 wasn't enough with that rim, the way the "D" hole was punched out causes a lip that contacts the caliper, I'm running .25" spacers to clear

Backspacing wont make any diferance as to if it hits the caliper or not... The wheel will still hit the hub in the same place... What makes the diferance is how the wheel face is, like if the punches leave big indentions or not. or the angle in which the face of the wheel leaves to hub to mount to the rim...

I saw you did the soa without a c/t. So if it isn't entirely neccesary why do so many poeple do it? I'm getting ready to do mine and was just wondering the pro's and cons of it. When you did the rear did you have to rotate the pinion up to? It looks great by the way thats a ton of lift.

I didnt do it. and my fj40 drove like crap. caster was way off for 35s and stuff. Im glad i did cut and turn. and wanst to hard after all. I did have some problem setting the knuckles up again

I would say SOA with OME should clear 38"s but it may be a little tight.

I ran SOA with stock springs and cleared 37's with no problem. Well, at least until the springs started to sag. I now run OME springs with my spring over, but have dropped down to 35's. I'd say OME+SOA+38's = No problems.

I agree here. The cut and turn isn't just for driveshaft angle, it is also an opportunity to set your caster. When you go this high up you don't want twitchy handling on the highway.

well guys here she is done on 38's what do u guys think

That is a big truck. Looks great. Any rubbing of the tires on the front wheel house? Any axle upgrades? Did you end up doing a cut and turn?

Nice job, gathering the final parts for my FJ60 SOA now. I'll probably stay with 35s.

Stock axles? I wonder how long before it starts breaking shafts on the trail.

Looks awesome.

no rubbing stock axles no c/t yet but move 3 degrees towards to the transfer case front output so it helps a little but i will do the c/t later just right now i spent to much on it not going off road on it yet need new U-Joints for the rear drive shaft and rebuilt the rearend and gears i have the locker for the rear dont know yet what im going to use in the front . ps and thanks for the help guys i will post more pictures later
