FJ60 PS Unit into 77 FJ40

Hey, I am currently attempting to add PS to my smogged 77 FJ40. Right now I have the complete PS system off a 85 FJ60. I have read several threads on using a FJ55 steering column. Is there any way to avoid having to use a 55 steering column? Also I don't mind switching to a Saginaw pump, and my block is not drilled or tapped. Yes, I do know I will need some brackets to mount everything. I don't need anything extreme in this area meaning that this FJ40 will not run a tire bigger than a 33". Thanks for all the help, and I'll try to do a write up along the way.

Search and look in the FAQ's. there are plenty of good pics on this subject regarding the FJ60 box, and even more regarding adding a saginaw PS pump.

having the FJ55 column and FJ60 columns to take parts from might help a lot in making your intermediate shaft, though you can custom-make one if you have a vision of what needs to happen.
