Hey guys, first time/long time. I've first exhausted the search as best I can, but to no avail.

'85 FJ60, desmogged, stock carb, CAT removed by PO. I have had a persistent "chirp" or "squeak" when given throttle, but not perceptible at idle. Starts up and drives, once stopped after longer drives it will get the dreaded dieselling.

There is additionally a lack of vacuum it seems (but can't pinpoint, hoses are good), serious flat spots and zero power when driving. Yes Yes I know what I'm driving haha. Looked at and tinkered with for literally months by Luke Bogner here in Cincinnati, and even he has no ideas.

Leak down and compression tests all good, timing and valves adjusted, changed octane too and still persists.

Please send reinforcements. Will trade in wine.

Dieseling tells me the fuel cut solenoid has probably failed. So start your troubleshooting there to resolve your run on after key off. What is your vacuum at idle? It sounds like you have a vacuum leak.
I also installed a regulator which helped somewhat, but not completely. I'll check vacuum again.
Below is a short video of the chirping sound as well

Sounds like an exhaust leak, either from manifold or EGR J-pipe gasket if it is still there.
