I have worked quietly for about 10 yrs, about 4 yrs ago i finally sat down and got all the information needed through state laws, for attaining titles. And i just went through this crap again about 2 yrs ago with another vehicle.
Problem is the lack of me finding local sources for Toyota minis and especially cruisers, very very few cruisers here. maybe 20.
I have and still am searching for wreck or parts vehicles, but there are none, to be purchased local, and had a few people flake out that where at least in the region.
NO i will not pay over $1100 for a title and frame from CALI. I dont know who decided to gold plate everything from there, but they are running ass backwards.
IF i lived about 10 miles away and in a the different state, it would cost about $75, they do the title search and vin search, based on signed bill of sale and a clean check on the vins they issue a new title. I do not wish to start signing all my vehicles to my buddy to have him title them then sign them back over to me, its just a huge monkey wrench.
cruiserdan, it is similiar here, but the biggest complaint is that the title stays with the frame (so so) all cab tags are adjusted accordingly. both titles would not be needed, one for sure, bill of sale representing other large items would work for the other vehicle. BUT most of the time they request you go for the brand new title with new vin and manufacture date, YUCK.
If anybody could bring the spacer and a 37x12.5x15 that I can used as a spare, I'd by beers for the entire event and you'd make my coolest dude/dudet list of all time...lemme know as time draws short.
