looking in michigan or near to's as stated ,not in canada ! Canadian winters kick the s*** out of diesels so I'd rather not buy from there ! thanx for the quick replies back tho !

Those winters don't kick the sh!t out of the engines, just the frames and bodies. Northern Mich. probably isn't much better, and good luck finding an engine that was never imported into the U.S. You will either have to import yourself or get exceptionally lucky.

very cold starts ,thick oil frozen in the winter, ether spray and impatient drivers in Canada all lead to beat engines ! sorry you dissagree ! aside from the info you stated there still seems to be more of these engine available in the States than in Canada! Mostly cause the Canadian ones are either being kept or are already beat, blown or just wore out ! I have seen two for sale here in the last two months so I'm sure I will see more to come !

hows is Michigan any different for temps?? did you know the most southern part of ontario is more south than the north end of calfifornia? Vancouver and the coast seldom go below 0 cel. and calgary gets warmer than most places in the northern states. they get freakish chinooks. as far as rust goes the praire's didn't always use salt. so some of the trucks aren't even that bad for rust.

how does an average of about -20 celcius for January and most of February grab ya ? often going as low as -40 without the other facter we get called wind chill which help achieve frequent -40's ! Again that is why I'm looking in the michigan area where snow is minimal and the temps are higher as compared to my home ! I guess I can thank the great lakes for all of this cold ass weather ! I guess since your parts of the world are so warm I should be looking there maybe ? oh! the engine required does not need a body so rust where ever it grows best in canada or the us is not a concern here !

What makes you think that Canadian drivers are inherently more impatient? What makes you think that the 3Bs you see for sale in Mich. were not Canadian motors originally? I say again: 3B powered cruisers were NEVER imported into the U.S. by Toyota. And I say again, along with brownbear, what makes you think Nor. Michigan is the tropics and Southern Canada is the arctic?

What I see on the Int'l Board here is all the Canucks use block heaters and have no problems starting their trucks with their 24v electrical systems. Have you considered the electrics with your engine quest?

Sorry to turn this into a semi-flame, but I find your assumptions to be illogical and a little jingoistic.

This is what we are saying! It is no colder in Canada than in Nor. Mich. so it doesn't matter where the engines come from. Your only point seems to be there is something lacking in the Canadians in taking care of their rigs. Not only is this jingoistic but I would say that if there's anybody in the world who knows how to take care of a diesel TLC in cold weather, it's a Canadian. Talk to the Aussies about the heat though...

So again grab that BJ70 or an old BJ60 or 42 with a gone body and frame and then you'll have a full donor vehicle with maybe a 5 spd. tranny with the compound low gear for some real rock crawling ratio. If you want a little more power there's a running HJ60 on the for sale section, full truck for $2k. Dunno if that's USD or CAD.

I'm a mechanic for a power utility company here in Canada! ontario in fact and see my fair share of engine damage from morans who don't do what your saying like block heaters warm ups and what not including the s*** that goes on with the fleet I take care of ! Impatience on their part maybe ,call it what you want ! no one said what you stated: quote! And I say again, along with brownbear, what makes you think Nor. Michigan is the tropics and Southern Canada is the arctic?
the point from the start that is and was being made is that all of Michigan is warmer than here and that why I and say againI am looking there !Thank you for hy-jacking this post and many others I'm sure ! When I first came to this board not long ago I was glad to converse with some real knowledgeable cruiser guys and was glad to get quick answers to the questions I asked then ! I guess there would a few who think they know everything and spill out all kinds of whatever and stray from original posting topics!oh well ! and who cares if toyota imported or exported anywhere ! not mine or your concerns!

3b diesel engine wanted! not the weather in any areas

lets try this again !....... does anyone in the MICHIGAN area or nearer have or know of a toyota 3b diesel engine for sale? also a gas 6cyl. 3spd bellhousing too please!any help appreciated thanx !

me too ! maybe try for a weather reporter or geography teacher ? from what I can tell you'd be awesome ! Just a thought tho!

i wud like a free FZJ80, cmon you no yu dont need it anymoor! if you incest, i will give yu a mint 93 4runner for yor low mile fzj80! ;^)

cold in Canada?
na, that's just a rumour. I believe that the lower mainland BC and Vancouver Island probably have the highest cruiser count in all of Canada and are probably the warmest places in Canada as well.
I just came in from washing my pick up and I'm wearing a t-shirt.
3B's are about 1200 to 1800 depending on mileage and acc. attached to the motor
There is a complete BJ60 up here with OME's lots of new parts, 1985, recent head, injectors, and glow plugs, 5 speed, recent brakes, not too bad sheet metal, rusty frame. for $3900.00
I'll be getting pics of it today.

seriously though.. where do you expect to find a 3B that most likely didn't come from Canada? Sure marv probably has a few and same with G&S. I guess your holding out for that euro 3B that's been in a barn or maybe a AUS unit that never went to the outback?

where are you in Canada(ontario) that is always -20?? for jan/feb. better be northern ontario. no one in southern has those sustained temps. yes they get them but not for 2 months.
as far as using ether?? maybe you work for a dumbass company, but japanese diesels don't need ether. you must be seeing that on equipment. doubt any cruisers are getting ether on regular basis.

i plug in my diesel and it starts like summer. I use additives and never have a problem,
talk to some cruiser dieselheads and find out how they start and what condition the engines are. these arn't fleet operators running ford vans. who don't care.

explain yourself better and then it won't feel like a hyjack. go edit yourself.

35x12.50R15Tires

I'm looking for some 35x12.50R15 preferably BFG mud terrains with at least 1/2 tread left but I would be interested in any brand if it were cheap enough. I'm in central TX

I have no need to explain asshat! read the original post then the rest ! you and the other dude took offence to weather and etc. I'm happy for you that your diesel starts like summer ! so do the ones I have but for this build the customer wants one from the michigan area so I don't care about all this trivial B.S.! I only posted what they want and when I find it I'll provide it !How about providing useful info that was the topic of the original post and refrain from throwing opinions about B.C's weather and whereever else moves ya and the fact that you have the best diesel powered vehicle in the world and stopping wasting writing space ! I'm through so you can post back to get the last word if ya want ! Amuse me! with your vast expertise ! My two fingers are sore from typing so ...See ya....... oh wait ....dumbass company ! thats funny Our "dumbass" company as you stated! made over 2 billion in power sales last year and bought a 1.24 billion former U.S power company in New York ! we sustain over 800 million in cash flow alone annually so I would hard pressed to call this company Dumbass or the employees and support staff who run it !Thanx and if I knew cruisers or Jap diesels were so grand I'd order them instead of the 200+ superduty and dodges we have ! theres always next year ! Maybe we'll bring you and your crew in for a consulting stint...being so smart and all you should go to work in Everett with all the other 20 somethings! thats they way you come off anyways !

I've got a low miles 2B that just came from Japan that's for sale cheap. Exactly the same HP and 2ft lbs less torque than a 3B of the same era.

Oh, just re read newbie's post. Nevermind, I'm in Canada and come to think of it I never have plugged this engine in.

I'm glad someone wants to by the rusty Central U.S. stuff! Keeps the cheery cleanish B.C. Lower Mainland stuff for those of us who appreciate it (and there'll be another decent 3B available in B.C. should I ever need one 'cause I WON'T be looking in Michigan).

p.s. I'm from B.C. and will NEVER buy a vehicle or motor that has spent wintertime in the Central U.S. or Ontario. Don't tell rolledb4 that though 'cause we don't want to let the secret out.
