I was at the Concourse D'lagance in Hilton Head SC yesterday and saw this in the parking lot. No affiliation and never saw the owner.
I kinda like the paint job actually. I would say it was a very fresh repaint. I would give it an 8/10 on repaint but I didn't see in the door jams or under the hood. They did a bad job on the fender transitions and got quite a bit of overspray on the front of the vehicle's frame under the radiator.
The interior I would give a 9/10 but they had seat covers on the front and some cheaper rubber mats down where the feet go. Same in the back. But everything that I could see that was original looked spotless. The headliner looked replaced. Had huge speakers cut in the back and a very large subwoofer box, aftermarket stereo.
Wheels looked perfect.
The underside is where it goes down hill though. Hard to tell but looks like a much older respray or factory undercoating. Looks like it had recently been pressure cleaned underneath but still lots of oil everywhere. Birfs need rebuild and looks like multiple other leaks as it could be found about everywhere. That being said still very very clean for under a cruiser. No dirt anywhere but a little bit on the t-case...otherwise the t-case was mostly silver and clean.
I suspect she did not live a completely rust free life though as I could have poured a couple of pounds of the stuff out of the rear cross member tube as I saw it sitting in there.
That said would I pay the asking price???..well probably not but I don't think he is that far off. Considering it was at a place where the average price of the new cars was well over 100K and some of the older ones pretty close I bet it was the right price to be asking.
