I have been talking with Proffits, super nice guy...will definitely do business with them, about doing SOA on my Pig....76 FJ55....got to thinking more and talking about doing a 4 Link Coil rear end. I haven't had any luck finding many 55's in mostly stock condition running this setup.

Is there a reason??? I think that would really kick ace, ride good and have killer flex in the rear to match the front. Any reasons NOT to do it?

He mentioned F250 front coils

thoughts?

It would be a kewl setup, however the biggest reason you likely haven't seen it before is the 55 isn't commonly a FULLY built up crawlin rig...

IMO, go for it, and Jeremiah does some nice work too :D

Yeah, haven't seen many 55's at all built up. This isn't going to be an extreme crawler...just my daily driver and trail rig.

I would like to make the SOA front as low (flat) as possible and the rear to match. I just figured to coils would ride and flex better, and with a competent builder like proffits I bet it would perform awesome on and off road. I'm working on the power steering now, then I would go high steer with the new setup.

I love how our FZJ80 rides on coils, so maybe this would help the 55 as well.

What do you think the cost of a four linky with coils would cost?
Just for parts or wilh someone doing it for you???

In parts it really depends on what you use for materials.

I can easily see 1K in parts alone if you use really good stuff.

a budget parts list will be $500 or more....bump up to top-line heims or other joints, stronger links, etc and Mace's number is right on.
