Looking to buy a clean FJ55 either orginal or slight modifications that can be a sutible DD.

Must Haves:
AC (would like to have)
PS (ok either way)
PB (disk brakes up front preferred)
Clean - no rust/little to no rust (good luck I know) ;)
Restored ok or clean original better
must run
f or 2F preferred (SBC ok)
Solid mechanically. ( I am ok rebuilding axels front and rear if need be)
clean/straight body.
history (the more the better)
I have zero desire to do body work. Items should have already been addressed as I do not have the knowledge or desire to tackle body work beyond painting.

Nice to have:
ARB air locker/lockers
sliders
winch
front/rear bumpers (armor)
33's 35's (getting rather large)
rebuilt 1F/2F
Alcon lift/springs 3" great. larger lift not really what I am looking for.

not looking for a project just a nice looking classic as a DD.

I know that the list of items I am looking for makes the field narrow with their age. Ok if there has been modifications (lift, wheels/tires, winch, bumpers, armor). However I am looking for a daily driver not a rock crawler. Either expo or slight mod to make it more aggressive.

willing to travel for right vehicle. I am located in FL
Price: Depends on what you have $10,000-15,0000 more if its really clean.

if you have or know of a nice clean FJ55 please let me know. Shoot me a PM so I can get you my email address so I can take a look at some photos.

I've had/known FJ's for a while and understand that finding a 55 in this condition will be tough. Give me some feedback if I am out of line or looking for something that will never happen. :D

Time for a new car and I would rather have a nice classic rather than a new soulless vehicle.

Very slim chance you'll find a better one that's in your price range than the one above. Better grab it.

Pathfinder,

Didn't like the one I linked? That one is as close as you're going get to your price range and have some of things you want.

I blew past $35,000 months ago, just in parts and you can see how far I have to go. You still in?

does not hurt to ask. :)

You're right. A long time ago, I just finished an old VW convertible and a guy asked to buy it, I said sure and threw a price at him, thinking no way he'd come up with it. Yep, a few weeks later, he came up with it. Cash too, I had to turn him down, I just wanted to drive it after all the work.

There just aren't too many pigs that are finished, the way you want, for that range of money. Most are projects " in the works ".

Good luck with your quest.

thanks I'll give them a call.

both are really nice.

Anyone talked to these folks about this?

I'd be interested to know what the story on the 78 is.....

want to say thank you to everyone who helped me find my new pig. I am going out to AZ this week on Wednesday to pick her up and drive her back to Florida.

Should you be interested in following my progress you can follow here. More photos will be coming soon.

Super big thanks to 89GASHOG. Not sure how I missed this one in my searches however without you I would not have a new pig coming home to Florida.

The owner is a old school cruiser head who purchased it 2 years ago from original owner of 34 years did one very nice paint job with zero bondo. Only has 34k original miles. Had Road Ready perform an inspection. Very nice should you be thinking of purchasing a cruiser long distance.

More to follow in my thread.
