Hola,

Picking up a 1982 FJ45 Troopy from OZ....

The Vin is FJ45xxxxxx.....on all plates in the firewall....

My insurance co is giving me a hard time because it's not 17 letters/numbers....and it's an 1982...

Anyone else have vin issues...how many #s is yours?

(Ah yes...it's good to be back in a Cruiser again!!!)

Not savy on Arizona's laws. In Washington you will need all documents from the shipping company, title, and bill of sale. You will also need an inspection from the State Patrol.

I never once had issues with the VIN when importing. Good luck! You might try using Haggerty Insurance too..

I have a 1982 Trooy VIN: FJ45339256, it actually has the 1983 version of the dash.. Haven't decided if that's good or bad really..

..anyway the Louisiana Vehicle Registration were a real PITA!!!!!!!!!

Had to go 4 times... someone different always telling me I needed something else... next time... just gonna go right to the State Trooper inspection.

Needed:
DL
DL of the seller and address
State Trooper inspection (they thought the vin should be 11 instead of 10).
Insurance proof...
yada yada yada...

However, I expected trouble ...it's Louisiana after all

Post up some pics!

That is awesome!

You have to leave the signs on the side! Great pantina!

I'm thinking the same thing....it's got some slight surface rust spots that I'll fix, but since it's going to be an expedition type build, I may just concentrate on the drivetrain, suspension, and interior, then tint the windows and call it good....

No sense in making it stand out with shiny new paint.... ;)

I've already been approached by a couple of folks who would like to use it in local advertising....

It got dark on me when I brought it home last night, so I'll snap some pics today!

Ok, sorry for the hijcak but to ans your question:

Sorry, it was really a pic of "the boy". However, you can see the dash as well as the cheap A$$ "dynomat" that was in the rig and the stake in the ceiling that might as well be through my heart.

Shipping question

Hltoppr,

I have a HJ47 in oz waiting to float the pond and have a few questions.

Did you ship yours in a container or RORO?

How much was the shipping?

Did you use a freight forwarder / broker?

Any hassles at customs?

Thanks
