Hey, some of you might remember me from about 5 years ago. Still have my '65 lpb and my '79 fj 55 beater. Just bought a nice '85 fj60 that was abandoned when a neighbor moved away. Fixing it has rekindled my cruiser addiction. I have been doing a lot of truck stuff, but family stuff has changed a lot since then too. '94 T100 has become my daily work truck. 33 x 950 x 15s all around. Last winter I stuck a 'cummins 6at '6cyl turbo diesel in my '59 f350 9' box pickup hooked to am sm 465. I see tornado alley is on here now. I read a bunch of his stuff while researching the 6at. I have another real good running 6at that might go into the 60. or the 45 . I know we all like pictures. It might take multiple posts so here's some pics, old and new. Gary

Nice job cleaning up the 45!

Long story, but the first photo was in about '95 or so. I cleaned that 45 up real nice and put a '76 2f in it with the original 3 on the tree. Had to sell it in'99 when I got divorced in order to buy my place back. Good move because I raised 3 kids here on my own and they got to keep their old rooms etc and not move. Later when things settled down and my business doing well(pre housing bubble recession), I bought the one in the lower picture from Show Low Arizona with no engine or trans. I bought a rusty '76 fj40 with a 'new engine' in it. Owner's son thought it might be a chevy six. When I went to get the 40 I saw it was indeed a 2f. After getting on this site and trying to identify the year, I found that the raised boss on the block was never stamped. I was told that that means it was a toyota replacement engine. I later ran into the dad who told me it was done at the dealership. Apparently the 40 had always burned oil (he bought it new) and so at 100,000 he had the new engine installed. They didn't use it much and it was getting really rusy by then. When I bought it, it showed 123,000 on the clock, So it should last me a long, long time, specially since I only drive it in the summer. Told you it was a long story.

I start my 45 every month or so and drive it around just to keep it happy. It sits in a nice dry shed waiting for it's next outing. In the summer we use it like a lot of other 60 year olds use their harley. We take weekend trips and stop for a beer here and there and seems there's always a lot of bikers on the road. If it's really warm we drop the windshield down. Difference is we get to take the dog, we have a big comfy bench seat and we dont have to wear a helmet or leathers. Not to mention we can buy junk at swap meets and then there's that cooler in the back....... We occasionally get a thumbs up from the bikers as they fly by us on the mountain passes.

Heres a picture of that first fj 45 with it's current owner landpimp. I think the pic is from '08, but I assume he may still have it.
